How Coppola works on the plot and characters.

The greatest filmmaker of our time, Francis Ford Coppola (Apocalypse today, Dracula Bram Stoker, The Godfather), wrote and hung on the board above his desk this tip.  These tips are suitable not only for scriptwriters, but also for all authors.

"Notes F.F.K.  about the plot and characters "

 1. Character is revealed in behavior / action.
 2. The story can be conveyed through unique moments of interaction between the main characters.
 3. A memorable moment often proceeds in silence.
 4. In history, something must constantly happen.
 5. Emotion.  Passion.  Surprise.  Trembling.
 6. A shot can be in one word, but it is better when it is a whole sentence.
 7. The audience seeks to empathize with the heroes and wants the sense of ownership to grow.
 8. Avoid clichés, everything predictable.
 9. Spectators want their own characters and their life stories to be covered and explained.
